Surveys and Inspections It is essential that we keep our homes safe, which is why First 4 Services undertake the necessary surveys and inspections for your peace of mind. These include:
Gas Safety Inspection More than 14 people in Great Britain die every year from carbon monoxide poisoning and exposure. These could be prevented by regular safety inspections.
The law requires landlords to have all gas appliances checked every 12 months. First 4 Services engineers are Gas Safe accredited to carry out these checks and issue Gas Safe Certificates (CP 12).
An inspection involves a visual check of the installation, position of terminals and signs of incomplete combustion. We check casings and seals as well as meter access and correct labelling. We also check ventilation and test the flue flow. We check for any unsafe operation of appliances and repair them, if required. Once the installation has passed the inspection you will be issued with two copies of the Gas Safe Certificate; one copy for the landlord and one for the tenant.
Gas Safe Register Safety comes first. The law requires all engineers who work on gas appliances to be Gas Safe Registered. All First 4 Services engineers are Gas Safe Registered. We undertake gas safety checks, installation and maintenance to ensure that your property is safe and secure.
All of our gas engineers carry their own Gas Safe Register ID card with unique licence number. Before allowing an engineer to undertake work, always ask to see their Gas Safe Registered ID card.
Testing & Certification Every week in the UK, someone dies due to an electrical accident. Most of these accidents could be prevented by regular safety checks. It is government policy that any work requiring the disconnection of any part of your electrical system must be undertaken by a qualified electrician. Here at First 4 Services, we only employ fully trained, experienced electricians to comply with Current Building Regulations.
We offer electrical services and maintenance, covering any type of fault or repair.
How often do my appliances need to be PAT tested? This depends on the working environment and type of equipment being used. We can recommend you a schedule based on the guidelines set out by the Institution of Engineering (IET), the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and our experience in the field.
A PAT testing service dedicated to servicing your whole workplace on a schedule that suits you. Our engineers conduct a thorough assessment of your electrical appliances to ensure that you comply with legislation and that your employees are kept as safe as possible.
Adopting a PAT testing programme with HPM, to involve all electrical appliances being tested regularly, typically annually, will significantly reduce the prospect of a harmful incident due to an electrical fault.
